I think this is great idea EB3_NEPA. We need to work on this!!! A good interim solution. That way we can actually show the contribution that we can make to the society as a family. Does anyone have an idea where we can start?
How about sending letters to our representatives and then contacting the media on the plight of our spouses rather than on us!!! May be the human rights folks can help us on this.
can the H4 not apply for a new H1B? Is H4 barred from applying for H1B? If not, I don't see where the prob lies. plus how will this solve the retrogression issue?

I asked one of my friend (who is from retrogresed country) whether he is aware of IV, a group of "like-minded" members working on immigration retrogression related relief?
He quipped me back saying that he is aware of IV and IV is NOT "like-minded" group but "Money-minded" group of people, keeping on asking money all the time....Definately, its sending wrong signal...
Yes...Now you see the problem of over-agressive campaigning for contributions..Also the problem with members fighting over money with core team and vice-versa...

Well...Organization does not run on thin air...raising money is essential....
The organization has no option but to ask for money...This is going to happen anywhere you go....At least we are working for your benefits...It is not like we are asking you to write over your assets...It is minimal contribution....This is a fraction of your car insurence bill....a fraction of your lunch money for a month.....price of a tank of gas.....the rewards would be much greater .... This is one investment in your future that would give you returns in 100000 time of your investment..... and it is highly recommended...

I agree with the original posting that our next step should be capture of unused Visa from Previous years . But this would require a change in law.
A better interim relief would be a 3 years EAD/AP for H1 visa holders ,as granted to some other catogeries , which would also reduce the processing time for EAD.

Hi Guys,
Considering that we have all spent enough time stuck in the same job for several years it makes sense to prepare for the time if/when we actually get green card.
So I was wondering if anyone here has weighed and compared the cost and benefit of PMP vs MBA. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Lou is talking about H1 badly. Does he know how schools are facing problems without H1. Thousands of schools have no math and science teachers in rural areas. Why cant he make the americans to work in that area. Most of the schools are using teachers over 75 to 80 years old. Most of them didnt know how to use computers. Then how they teach good to students. Principals are struggling to run the schools with out teachers. Parents are disappointed without proper teachers. With this level, how can America make best future.My kids are struggling without proper teachers. When we ask the schools, they are saying they couldnt get proper teachers. If Lou's grand kids face this trouble, then he wont talk. With this situation, how schools can make AYP(adequate Yearly Progress) according to No Child Left Behind Law. First the Govenment must take necessary steps to solve this issue

We are June 15th, 2007 filers. We got our APs and EADs. There have been no more updates on mine or my spouse's 485 applications. But our son's 485 application had a LUD in September and again a couple of days ago. Does that by any chance mean that our son's NC is cleared and our's is stuck ?

Are you currently employed with this company?what is your current wage? what is the size of the company? how long has the company been in business? what has been the income in the past few years? how much cash do they have in bank? Do they have any external funding? how well do you know the owner? How many people have filed for GC in your company?

Remember all the data needs to be fully legal (your small time employer should not be saving taxes by using tactics that help him financially but are not right thing to do) and correct and your employer should be willing to help you with all the information. This issue is not difficult to solve. With the help of a good lawyer who knows about the intricacies of ability to pay and takes active interest in your case and a good experienced CPA you can easily overcome it.

I rear-ended a car last April..The damage to the car (other person's car) was minimum (<1500) but the other driver claimed whiplash injury...They wanted 10K from my insurance (at that time that was my limit..:-( ).
But my insurance offered them $2500 and they rejected the offer and filed a lawsuit in the county court.
I have a deposition this month..God knows what will happen..
But I am curious to know what was your accident about.

I was transferred to a IO yesterday. She was rude, told me that I should not be calling since they responsed to the first SR that was opened by my attorney on 09/01.
Not sure if you read the other thread, but I have got 2 responses from USCIS so far - one for inquiry that was sent when I took the Infopass and the other one that was opened by my attorney.
Response that I got for inquiry from my Infopass was " Based on the additional documentation provided, your case qualifies for expedited processing. You should hear back from us in 60 days. If you do not hear back in 60 days, please call us back".
I havent provided any documentation to them in the last 2 years, after my FP was done in September 2007.
So when I talked to the IO, she read out that message to me and in a subtle way asked me "What part of that message do you not get"?? I was trying to explain the situation to her, and before I could finish - she said "Sir, I got to move on and take other calls, please dont call back before November 15th".
And then she said the part that chuckles me the most - Sir, is there anything else you would like to me repeat, or do you have any other questions.....??
Hell yeah, I only have one question - when will I get the magic email?? :o
